Wake Forest Connects – DC

The next Wake Forest Career Connects event takes place in Washington DC on June 5, 2014 at The McDermott Building. A popular First Destination among Wake Forest graduates, our nation’s capital offers much in the industries of government, nonprofit, consulting, financial services, healthcare, technology, real estate, and media/advertising/PR.

Charlotte Connects

Students experience in-person networking with industry leaders at a Wake Forest Connects – Charlotte.

  • Meet WFU alumni to discover opportunities and learn about the host city
  • Sharpen professional skills through meaningful interaction
  • Gain valuable knowledge about industries that interest you
  • Build relationships with new and seasoned professionals for possible internship and job positions.

Previous Connects have been held in Washington DC; New York City, NY; and Charlotte, NC.

What to Expect:

Charlotte Connects

Wake Forest – Connects events are a great way to embrace the WFU network.

Wake Forest Career Connects offer students the opportunity to put into practice their networking skills, meet alumni, and learn more about their areas of interest.

  • 6:00 PM – 6:30 PM | Student Check-in and Alumni Registration
  • 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM | Round table Networking with Industry Professionals
  • 8:00 PM – 830 PM | Open Networking

In addition to Thursday’s networking event there are two optional community service projects planned for Friday and Saturday in honor of Wake Forest’s motto, Pro Humanitate. This offers a unique opportunity for students to build relationships with alumni as they work side-by-side to complete a service project.

  • The DC alumni chapter invites all students, alums and friends of the university to participate in Pro Humanitate Days 4Good as part of the Wake Forest Connects – DC event. More details to come.

How to Participate:

The deadline to register is May 16. The event is open to all current Wake Forest students regardless of major or class year. Transportation costs are the responsibility of each student. To secure your spot, undergraduate students register in DeaconSource and MBA students register in DeaconLink. See steps below:

  1. Log in to DeaconSource
  2. Click on the Calendar tab, then the OPCD Calendar link.
  3. On the right side of the page is a calendar; click June 5.
  4. Then click on the 6-8:30 p.m. blue hyperlink to see full event information and to RSVP.

DeaconLink Registration

  1. Log in to DeaconLink.
  2. Click on the Calendar tab, then the View Office Calendar link.
