The Office of Personal and Career Development is excited to be partnering with The University of Chicago and Stanford University to offer undergraduate students this new Career Exploration Trek pilot program. Students from all three universities will join together on these industry-specific field trips. The trip will be a valuable professional learning experience, allowing students to become familiar with companies in a small group setting, get a sense of office culture and expand their professional network.
Each trek will also include a reception on Monday, December 17 which will include representatives from companies students have visited, as well as local alumni from all three universities.
THE APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR THESE TREKS HAS PASSED. PLEASE CHECK THE OPCD WEBSITE FREQUENTLY FOR FUTURE EVENTS. UNDERGRADUATES ONLY, PLEASE. Treks are limited to 15 students for each city, so apply early!
Your application must include your resume and a cover letter that includes:
1) An explanation of why you would like to attend the trek
2) What you hope to get out of it
3) What experiences or interests you would bring to the group as a whole
4) How you will use the trek experience to further your professional development upon return
5) What your experience is with the relevant industry
Each student will be responsible for their own transportation to their trek city, transportation from the airport to the hotel and back to the airport (if applicable) and dinner on the evening of Sunday, December 16th. The actual cost will vary depending on your originating location, trek city and whether or not you will need to fly or can drive to your trek city. The cost of the hotel, all meals on Monday, December 17th and Tuesday, December 18th and transportation during the trek will be covered by the host university and participating employers.
